Meet the Team

Alex Aubert

Alex has proudly served the members of the Johnston-Grimes Metropolitan Fire District for seven years. Over that time, he has held multiple leadership roles within the union, including four years as Union Steward, a year as Treasurer, and now serves as President.

He has been actively involved in two rounds of contract negotiations and has worked diligently to ensure strong, fair representation for the membership. His experience in union leadership reflects a commitment to accountability, transparency, and steady progress for the organization.

Under his leadership, the focus remains clear: serve the membership and strengthen the union. Alex believes in pushing the organization forward every day — building on past successes, identifying opportunities for growth, and continuing to elevate the union to new levels of professionalism and effectiveness.

He is proud to lead a group as dedicated, unified, and hardworking as the members of this local.

Kyle Smith

Kyle has proudly been a member of Local 4835 for the past two years and is currently serving his first term as Vice President. In this role, he supports the overall leadership of the local, works closely with executive board members, and helps ensure the organization’s mission and goals are carried out effectively. His duties include assisting with meetings, representing members’ interests, supporting committee initiatives, and stepping in for the President when needed. Kyle is committed to strengthening communication, advocating for the membership, and contributing to the continued growth and success of Local 4835.

Vice President 

Spencer McCarty

Over the past three years as a proud member of Local 4835, Spencer has had the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally while contributing meaningfully to our membership. Serving as Treasurer since Fall of 2024, Spencer is entrusted with managing the local’s finances with accuracy, transparency, and accountability. His duties included overseeing the budget, maintaining detailed financial records, processing dues and expenditures, preparing financial reports for membership meetings, coordinating with union leadership to ensure responsible allocation of funds, and supporting audits and compliance requirements. This role strengthened his organizational, leadership, and communication skills while reinforcing my commitment to serving our members with integrity and dedication.

Treasurer 

Samantha Hooper

Samantha has proudly been a member of the union for six years and currently serves as Secretary, a position she has held for the past two years. Throughout her time in the organization, she has remained committed to strengthening communication, supporting her fellow members, and helping ensure the union operates efficiently and transparently. As Secretary, Samantha is dedicated to maintaining accurate records, facilitating clear communication, and contributing to the overall mission of advocating for fair working conditions and professional excellence. She values the sense of unity and purpose the union provides and is passionate about being actively involved in efforts that protect, support, and empower her brothers and sisters in the fire service.
